there have also been times where i was on the second floor of a building, and he was in the van and i could hear him like he was standing right next to me, not using the walkie talkie. and after a while it bleeds over to the local chat, multiple times now my friend has been standing right next to me and it sounds like he’s trying to talk to me from the inside of the house while i’m in the van. and when i can hear them, it’s so static and distorted that i can’t understand a word they’re saying. i hear the walkie talkies switch on, but it’s just silence most of the time. anyways, whenever i play multiplayer with some friends, the global audio bugs out and i can’t hear them throughout the whole round. Using local chat makes you sound exactly how you sound speaking through your mic. Regarding why this is even a thing, its mostly immersion. Rule 4: Posts must pertain to the game Phasmophobia or its developers. As you stated, talking in local makes it so the people near you can hear you while in global they can hear you from anywhere.
